We are going to start out easy today. All you have to do is this:
In the comment section below, INTRODUCE yourself and tell us your GOALS for the Holiday Break Reading Challenge. Make sure you give us your EMAIL in the comment so we can contact you if you win.
These goals can be anything related to reading, books, writing reviews, or blogging. Let's keep those "not eat myself into a coma on Christmas Day" goals to ourselves. :)
Julie and I will be choosing a random winner from the comments.
I'm Julie(the Edifying half of Edifying and Edgy). My goal for the Holiday Break Reading Challenge is to be able to finish reading all of the Christmas stories that I downloaded onto my Kindle. I have about 5 or 6 more to go.
ReplyDeleteI'm Carey from www.careyjaneclark.com, and my goal is to finish everything it say's I'm reading on my Goodreads list. Life has been busy lately, and those books have been sitting there way too long! Hope I win ;) carey@careyjaneclark.com
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Karin (the edgy half of the blog). My goal during the break is to reach my 150 book goal. I'm at about 122 now so that means I'll need to throw in some graphic novels and some shorter books in order to make it.
ReplyDeleteHi Carey! I hear ya on the Goodreads list of books that have been languishing way too long on the shelves! Hope you get some reading time this break! Thanks for joining in today!
ReplyDeleteJulie(Edifying)
The problem with the Goodreads shelf is that I keep adding more and more and more and never get to the ones that I added a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteI'm Shan from Curled Up With a Good Book and a Cup of Tea. My goal for the holiday break is to get out of this reading slump I'm in! I have three books that I really want to finish before the year is up, but I'm having such a difficult time.

Hi, I'm Leah and my goal over the holiday is to finish at least a book. With three little ones at home we'll see if that happens. :-) Leahbuck12@gmail.com
ReplyDelete@Karin That is my problem with the Goodreads shelf. I'm embarrassed to post the new ones for fear people will just laugh at my impossible dreams--or how many books I have on the go at the same time!
ReplyDeleteKarin, that's why I rarely add books to my Goodreads until I'm actually reading them. Welcome Shan! Here's hoping you reach your goal! Hey Leah! Everyone, Leah is my daughter and those 3 little ones she is talking about are the most gorgeous kids on the planet, but I'm not prejudice or anything!
ReplyDeleteJulie(Edifying)
I use the to-read shelf more as a reminder to me. Sometimes I forget about all the great books and need help remembering what it is I want to read.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Kathy from Kathy's Book Bag and I plan *fingers crossed* to finish reading all the books I still have going, three at this point in time. I've exceeded my reading goal for the year (135) so I'm ready to start again fresh in the New Year.
ReplyDeletepopcorn317@juno.com
Just so everyone knows. Kathy at Kathy's Book Bag is my mom!!! WOO HOO!!! So, you can see where I got my reading bug.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm Tracy. My goal is to Keep Reading! I tend to slack off when all the family is gathered. I have already met my Goodreads goal, yay! I have two audiobooks ready for the road trip and my books packed for reading. I just went to the Scholastic Warehouse sale and bought way more than I can read over Christmas break. tracyhora@att.net
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Alexandra and I'm a librarian at Berkeley High in California. My goal is to read at least 5 books over Holiday Break. I started Ellen Hopkins' Perfect today at lunch and am already engrossed in the lives of her characters.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, Tracy and Alexandra! Thanks for joining us today! Just so everyone knows, we will be using Random.org to draw a name for the winner today. No favoritism for my daughter or Karin's momma! :)
ReplyDeleteHi ya'll I am Pixie from Page Turners Blog and my goal for this break is to get caught up on my reading so I will make my 111 total books this year.
ReplyDeleteoops. I forgot to leave my email.
ReplyDeleteWeblogbooks@gmail.com
@Alexandra, I loved PERFECT. I listened to it on audio a week or so ago. IMPULSE is my favorite of hers so it was nice reading the other side of the story.
ReplyDeleteExcellent Pixie! I don't know that I will even finish 111 this year. I hope to, but the days are moving by a bit too quickly for me. I haven't read in 2 days! That is just not normal!
ReplyDeleteWell, ALL my holiday plans went down the tubes. I'll Be Home for Christmas . . . !! My OWN DEAR CHILDREN don't want to come by!!! It's BORING at Mom's house!! Well, that's GREAT FOR ME!! WOO-HOO!! SO,MY plans are to read as MUCH as I can and want to for ME, WHENEVER I WANT TO!! If the kids DO come by, and I am busy reading, TOO BAD! (They're teenagers. 18 and 14. Need I say more? HA!) Yes, I am taking time to read what "I" want to read!!! YEAH!!!!!! I read SO much for reviewing, that MY Christmas present to ME is to read what "I" want to read for about 1 week! I've already read 1 christmas book and LOVED it!! I want to get a few more in! I LOVE Christmas stories!! I will write reviews on them, as well, OF COURSE!!
