HBRC Day 14-Favorite book turned into a movie

Today we would like you to share with us what is a favorite book turned into a movie.

Julie's Choice:

I love the book Pride and Prejudice since I first read it when I was about 15. When I found out it had been turned into a movie I was thrilled. And then imagine my delight when it was turned into a movie AGAIN! And again and again! ha! Here are two of my favorite movie versions:

This is my favorite version.

This was the first version I ever saw. I remember it being on PBS. It would be on TV once a year. I didn't want to miss any of it. One week we were camping. I took an old black and white TV that I had with us to the campground. When it was on I took the TV down to the restroom and used an outlet outside so that I could watch it!! I was quite thrilled when I was able to buy it for my very own!

  1. This is a tough one. One of the things I often tell my students is DON'T judge a book by it's movie. :) However there are few book into movie adaptations that I like. Here's my favorite: http://bookladysbooknotes.wordpress.com/2012/12/29/hbrc-day-14-favorite-book-turned-into-a-movie/

    1. I agree with the don't judge a book by it's movie! Usually Hollywood just messes them all up. But as you say there are a few that are passable and have made me happy through the years. Thanks for participating.

  2. I couldn't choose just one! I love Pride and Prejudice too, but the Keira Knightly version is my favorite. I haven't seen the other versions yet.
